December 12, 2019: DAG, one of India’s leading art galleries, has amalgamated the second exhibition in its series, which reveals how political upheavals and rising confidence in the era of the 1970s affected art.
The exhibition consists of 40 pieces of artworks showcasing a period of major movements, periods and geographies of art practice in India and by Indian artists overseas, across decades. The exhibition is hosted at their recently unveiled gallery at The Claridges in New Delhi, until January 25, 2020.
The Seventies show focuses on artists such as Satish Gujral, J. Sultan Ali, Altaf Mohammedi, Avinash Chandra, Shanti Dave, Laxman Pai, Tyeb Mehta, Krishna Reddy and many more.
