April 10, 2019: Taking matters beyond interior décor, Ermenegildo Zegna and The Estée Lauder Companies presented the new Essenze Eau de Parfum collection during Salone del Mobile, by celebrating the launch with a dynamic fragrance installation designed and fabricated by Zegna and The Estée Lauder Companies, inspired by material exploration house The Unseen.
The Ermenegildo Zegna Essenze Eau De Parfum collection is composed of five special fragrances, each highlighting an individual ingredient and featuring Zegna’s exclusive Bergamot, which is harvested from a single field in Calabria, Italy. The perfumes include Mediterranean Neroli, Indonesian Oud, Madras Cardamom, Florentine Iris and Italian Bergamot.
During the launch event, which was hosted at the Ermenegildo Zegna Global Store in Milan, guests could explore each Essenze Eau de Parfum scent and the emotions it sparked with the installation, which was conceived from research by The Unseen. The installation explored new ways of visualizing scents that cannot be seen. Spread across five cubic spaces, one per parfum, each environment provided a sensorial experience through the use of colour to visualise emotions associated with a fragrance.
Mediterranean Neroli has a citrusy nose where Neroli and Estragon dramatically contrast the warmth of Saffron notes and dark smoky Incense. The Indonesian Oud is a slightly more opulent where Bergamot enhances the deep scents of Rose and Patchouli. The intensity of a precious Oud Accord is magnified by smoldering Amber notes. Spicy Green Cardamom and Italian Bergamot come together with Crisp Ambrox and rich Vanilla for Madras Cardamom. Florentine Iris is floral where Jasmine and notes of Violet combine with lasting woody depth. The Italian Bergamot, of course, has Bergamot heightened by the energy of spicy Pepper. Crisp Neroli and Rosemary weave aromatic mid notes as warm Vetiver and Tonka Bean finish with powerful depth and dimension.
