May 13, 2011: After the many rounds of master classes, brand workshops and cocktail challenges, India’s 11 most talented mixologists came together in Mumbai to contest for the crown of India’s best bartender at the national final of the Diageo Reserve World Class.
The finalists were put through intense rounds to test their skill, service, speed, knowledge and creativity. Judges included renowned designer Narendra Kumar; Global Brand Ambassador – Diageo Reserve World Class Spike Marchant and Adam Brewer, 2010 Diageo Reserve World Class Australia Bartender of the Year.
Using their knowledge of luxury spirits, the finalists were asked to create exquisite drinks. The competition, designed to celebrate the art of bartending, saw Hemant Kumar Pathak from Taj Palace taking top honours.
