Kering Eyewear takes over American brand Maui Jim

The French luxury house announced that it now holds more than 90% of the iconic sunglass brand Maui Jim, with the remaining shares expected to be acquired by year-end.

October 4, 2022: Maui Jim sunglasses, born on the beaches of Maui in Hawaii, are designed to protect eyes from the harsh rays of the island sun. Today, Maui Jim, headquartered in Peoria, Illinois, is one of the world's fastest-growing high-end eyewear companies, and its products are sold in more than 100 countries.

Following the terms disclosed on March 14, 2022 and clearance from the antitrust authorities, Kering Eyewear today announced that it now holds more than 90% of the iconic sunglass brand Maui Jim, with the remaining shares expected to be acquired by year-end. 
 
The global luxury group of Kering manages the development of a series of houses in fashion, leather Goods and jewellery: Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Brioni, Boucheron, Pomellato, DoDo, Qeelin, as well as Kering Eyewear.
