January 14, 2016: Luxury brand Louis Vuitton has partnered with the leading humanitarian and development organization, UNICEF, to help children in desperate need.
The partnership aims to raise funds to provide assistance for children exposed to conflict, diseases, and natural disasters, among other traumatic circumstances. Children, especially in conflict areas, are at risk for disease, malnutrition, and violence. Devastatingly, children living in areas such as those also pose a greater risk at dying before the age of five.
Globally available in Louis Vuitton stores starting January 13 is a specially designed Silver Lockit collection. The Lockit, inspired by Georges Vuitton’s 1890 tumbler lock, is a symbol of protection and seals the promise to the children in need. For each sale of the pendant or bracelet, Louis Vuitton will donate $200 to UNICEF.
In addition to the launch of the Silver Lockit, Louis Vuitton has also announced its digital campaign #MAKEAPROMISE to raise awareness and donations from people around the world. The campaign, directed by leading high profile and influential friends of Louis Vuitton, made a “pinky promise” to children in need during the Louis Vuitton UNICEF Ball on January 12, 2016.
