October 13, 2014: Continuing with their expansion into India’s tier II cities, Swarovski has launched three new stores in Kanpur, Ludhiana and Mangalore. While Ludhiana was launched early July, Kanpur and Mangalore launched in August.
Each of these stores follow the design story adopted by Swarovski in 2008 when they joined forces with famous designer Tokujin Yoshioka who gave the creative inspiration for the enchanting retail architecture of Swarovski’s stores. The concept embraces a ‘Crystal Forest’ theme, highlighting the infinite possibilities of crystal and illustrates the company’s deep affinity with nature.
Inside the boutique, the Crystal Forest becomes a huge relief wall consisting of a myriad of sparkling prisms creating a heaven of harmony and reflections. A key element of the boutique placed in the facade is a chandelier. Tokujin Yoshioka also designed all shop elements from the free standing and wall mounted showcases, to the innovative lighting design (LED) creating optical effects of infinite reflections, intensifying the feeling of light and space.
“I would attribute the growth of the CGB business in India heavily on the change we have initiated in Indian consumer perception based on our positioning by entering the everyday jewellery segment. Swarovski Consumer Goods Business has been enjoying an overall healthy double digit growth in sales. We have a strong foothold in the Indian market with a pan India presence across 12 cities for mono stores and hope to have a collective 79 points of sale by close of 2014,” says Sukanya Duttaroy, Managing Director, Consumer Goods Business, Swarovski India.
