May 10, 2016: Vacheron Constantin introduces a new stainless steel timepiece to its Quai de L’ile collection.
The latest addition to the 2008 line, the novel watch attests to the Maison’s Swiss fine watchmaking traditions. The first stainless steel Quai de L’ile model, it boasts Vacheron Constantin’s three iconic features: a round bezel, a cushion-type case and a barrel caseband, which create an intricate “shape in shape” design.
Above a state-of-the-art mechanical self-winding movement, Caliber 5100, comprising 172 component, is a multi-level opaline-finish dial in two versions – silver or black. Split in three parts, the display flaunts white luminescent hour-markers and Arab numerals that – coupled with the watch’s innovative depth effects – ensure premium readability. A distinctly high point is the replacement of the traditional date aperture with a two-level date indication, inked on transparent mineral glass disc.
Water-resistant up to 30m, the new Quai de L’ile comes with two straps – brown alligator leather and black rubber – and is available at select boutiques around the world.
