April 13, 2016: German luxury watchmaker, A. Lange & Soehne and the famed museum association Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden (SKD) extended their cultural cooperation, which commenced in 2006, for five additional years.
The announcement came on the heels of the partners’ joint exhibition “Simple and perfect – Saxony’s path into the world of international watchmaking,” which last year marked 200 years since the birth of the Maison’s founder, Ferdinand Adolph Lange.
The Manufacture has fostered close ties with the Mathematisch – Physikalische Salon, one of SKD’s 14 museums as well as the place, where, in the distant 1830, young Mr Lange became enchanted with what later turned into his true vocation. Today, the brand carries on Mr Lange’s dedication to Saxony’s fine watchmaking and, together with SKD, revives the time-worn techniques of the region.
