February 4, 2019: Playing on her forte, Indian designer Anushree Reddy’s Spring Summer 2019 collection ‘Atirah’ at Lakme Fashion Week is a perfect amalgamation of flowers and delicacy.
Inspired by the rich traditions of the Mughal era, the collection yet has modern, clean silhouettes. Fabrics like pure silks, hand-woven cotton and organza, across a range of pastel colours including frosted almond (sang raza), apricot (zar) and celestial blue (fiza), are enhanced with intricate thread work embroidery infused with zardozi.
Gathered lehengas, gowns and menswear with ruffles and layering meet the needs of today’s confident bride and groom.
Indian actress Kangana Ranaut walked the ramp for Ms. Reddy, dressed in a warm pink delicately embroidered rose lehenga with floral jaali work. It took 11 hands and 395 hours to complete this particular creation.
