May 17, 2021: Redefining the concept of traditional retail and giving it magnanimous proportions, luxury brand Anya Hindmarch has launched ‘The Village’.
A completely new retail concept and the realisation of Ms. Hindmarch’s long-held dream, The Village is a collection of five neighbouring Anya Hindmarch stores located on Pont Street, London, the original home of the brand. It will be the destination for Brand experiences, collaborations and exhibitions, all of which will be amplified digitally. It will also be the home for all the Brand’s collections.
“If retail is to exist in a digital world, there needs to be a reason to visit,” says Ms. Hindmarch.
The Village includes The Anya CafeÌ – an all-day cafeÌ at the heart of The Village inspired by the quintessential British cafeÌ of old but reimagined with the Brand’s trademark humour.
The Village Hall is an ever-evolving concept space launching as the ‘Anya Hair Salon – Shampoo & Therapy’ to celebrate the publication of the designer’s first book, ‘If In Doubt, Wash Your Hair.’ (Bloomsbury Publishing).
The Plastic Store is a space to showcase and collaborate with others focused on issues of sustainability, circularity and the reduction of plastic consumption. It will also be the destination for the ‘I Am A Plastic Bag’ collection which is made from an innovative cotton- canvas feel fabric entirely created from recycled plastic bottles.
The Labelled Store is dedicated to the art of organization, offering the best-selling Labelled collection, a system of cases and bags that are, quite literally, labelled to keep you organised. The Bespoke Store is the original Bespoke store which will continue to offer personalised pieces designed to mark special moments in time and be handed down through the generations.
The Village aims to become a new type of retail experience Ms. Hindmarch wants to offer her customers and followers in the post-pandemic world – a special place where the Brand can focus all of its creative energy, a place to meet, collaborate and share both in person and virtually.
“I feel that the next ten years are going to be about ‘localisation’ not ‘globalisation’ and it feels so right to return to the Brand’s roots here on the Cadogan Estate and to realise my dream of The Village,” explains Ms. Hindmarch.
