Renowned for her innovative fusion of India’s rich handloom and handicraft traditions, designer Archana Jaju has carved a niche for herself in the world of fashion. Collaborating with skilled artisans from every corner of the country, Ms. Jaju’s creations reflect a tapestry of diverse cultural influences.
Once again, drawing inspiration from the wanderlust spirit that fuels exploration, the designer recently unveiled a captivating new line – Raahi. Breaking new ground, this collection sees the addition of applique craftsmanship in her repertoire, with a focus on sustainability.
Upcycling leftover Kalamkari fabrics into intricate embroideries and striking patches, Ms. Jaju breathes new life into materials while championing eco-conscious practices.
In a departure from her signature Kalamkari style, these new elements are adorned into a range of summer-ready, pret pieces, crafted from luxurious linen and chanderi textiles.
Each garment is a masterpiece, adorned with meticulous threadwork and dynamic 3D embellishments that mirror the different facets of a traveler’s journey.
From flowing summer dresses to sophisticated separates, the designer has stitched a different story in every creation.
“At Archana Jaju, we believe in fashion that not only captivates the senses but also respects our planet. With Raahi, we are pioneering a new era of conscious luxury, where sustainability and style converge seamlessly. By upcycling leftover Kalamkari fabric and incorporating innovative techniques like appliqué patches, we are redefining the boundaries of traditional Indian fashion,” Ms. Jaju said.
