Yacht company Riva and fashion brand Gucci came together to create a boat which is way different from their respective mechanical sensibilities and usual design. Quite a challenge to other manufacturers…
This is not news anymore. Everybody in the world knows that two titans in their respective fields have come together to deliver a masterpiece. Aquariva by Gucci may not be the largest yacht around, but it surely is the one of the most high-end speed boat of its category and the most coveted too.
When Aquariva by Gucci was showcased at the Milan Fashion Week, shutterbugs were clicking fiercely. Probably it was the first time a yacht was placed strategically in a fashion week.
A result of the collaboration between Riva and Gucci, the boat has been given a shape by Officina Italiana Design. This unique collaboration celebrates the era of La Dolce Vita, when a joie de vivre, glamour and elegance defined an attitude and a lifestyle. In their respective sectors, Gucci and Riva have a tradition of excellence in design and craftsmanship.
Respecting the DNA of the original Aquariva created by Officina Italiana Design in 2000 was paramount to Gucci’s design for Aquariva. Aquariva by Gucci is made with a fiberglass hull with detailing painted in Gucci’s hue of glossy white. Riva’s signature use of mahogany with classic varnish finish – twenty coats in all – is also the signature material for the cockpit, walking decks and awning cover hatch. The waterproof fabric covering the seats and sundeck features the emblematic Guccissima print, while the bed upholstery is defined by Gucci white cotton. Gucci provides an iconic touch its green-red-green detailing which edges the floating line, perfectly complementing the unique green crystal windshield. The Gucci customization is supplemented with a series of exclusive Riva by Gucci accessories including stylish and sporty handbags, caps and footwear.
Driven by two 380-horsepower Yanmar engines, you can switch between two-speed electronic gear, ensuring an exceptional performance, with a maximum speed of 41 knots and a 150-mile range at cruising speed. This 33ft boat can accommodate eight people on-board.
Not exactly a true blue Ferretti style yacht, Aquariva is unique and a rare concept for sure. Aquariva by Gucci will be exclusively available on a made-to-order basis through Riva’s dealer network. The cost doesn’t matter because you know you want it.
