July 7, 2021: Aston Martin anticipates a thrilling Le Mans this year with the Valkyrie AMR Pro, that has been unveiled as a much more extreme track-only production car designed to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race.
The basic, race-optimized structure, aerodynamics, and powertrain advancements of the Le Mans project profit the new Valkyrie AMR Pro. The AMR Pro's skills now outstrip those of the vehicle created to compete for victory in the Le Mans 24 Hours, courtesy to its quality and performance being free of race rule restrictions.
The Valkyrie AMR Pro seems to be a car with unrivalled performance and potential. It is designed on a modified version of the Valkyrie chassis that has a 380mm longer wheelbase and a 96mm wider track in the front and 115mm in the back. It also includes an advanced aerodynamic system that adds 266mm to the length of the aircraft and produces enormous amounts of downforce. The Valkyrie AMR Pro will reach lateral acceleration of more than 3G, securely delivering almost double the amount of downforce as that of the Valkyrie Road car.
Valkyrie AMR Pro depends primarily on a revamped version of the phenomenal Cosworth-built 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12 engine in order to accomplish the lightest weight and best lap times. With a rev limit of 11,000rpm, this combustion engine powerhouse is on track to produce 1000bhp. The battery-electric hybrid technology will be eliminated, along with a slew of other weight-saving features like ultra-lightweight carbon fiber bodywork, carbon suspension wishbones, and Perspex windshields and side windows.
More information about the Valkyrie AMR Pro's specifications and efficiency will be announced later this year, but it is said to have a lap time of 3 minutes 20 seconds around the 8.5-mile 24H Le Mans circuit – a blazing performance that will see the Valkyrie AMR Pro competing with the front-running LMP1 cars for the outright victory in the world 's largest endurance race.
Aston Martin Chief Executive Officer, Tobias Moers, said: “The entire Aston Martin Valkyrie program has been an extraordinary adventure in engineering. Valkyrie AMR Pro is a project beyond compare, a true ‘no rules’ track-only version. It is a testament to Aston Martin’s commitment to pure performance and this performance DNA will be evident in our future product portfolio”.
Customers will be able to experience a unique track day organized by Aston Martin at a handful of International FIA Circuits around the world to complement the track-only Valkyrie AMR Pro. The event will feature track and pit lane access, as well as FIA exclusive racewear and a VIP hosted meal.
Valkyrie AMR Pro is currently undergoing physical testing to assure that it offers the best driving experience possible. All cars will be left-hand drive, with a production run of 40 cars plus two prototypes. First deliveries are scheduled to commence in Q4 2021.
