Although there is much to be discerned, we tell you some key trends which emerge from the Autumn-Winter 2015-16 collections by luxury fashion brands
The Autumn/Winter 2015 collections for women are quite stylish. Though not absolutely eclectic, they combine the old with the new to present a fusion of comfortable wear, which will still make heads turn! Out of all those ramp shows, we try to carve out the trends, which you can expect to see on the streets or in parties!
FUR AND FRINGE
Well, that’s exactly what we saw while going through most of the collections. Michael Kors, for example, shows off an elegant and high-class peacock fox coat for the season. Burberry uses English fringed suede multiple times in its collection. Their accessories also introduce the Burberry Bucket Bag in fringe along with the Burberry long fringe scarf in check cashmere. Fendi displays massive oligarch-ish fur coats which will certainly delight its Russian patrons. Needless to say, they are sumptuous and we love them! Elie Tahari too combines leather with fur and fringed suede to glam up the woman, give her power, and make sure she is ready for any difficulty up ahead – including New York’s famous snow storms.

THE POWER OF NEUTRAL
Gucci leads the pack here we have to say. After showcasing a feminine collection for Autumn Winter 2015 Menswear, the womenswear collection is quite androgynous with straight lines. A pleated skirt or a business suit, Gucci aims to make women contemporary and free. Geometric checks and wide legged trousers feature in Paul Smith’s collection, again pointing towards asexual designs from this traditionally menswear designer. Bottega Veneta too offers its own version of checks, included in a silhouette which is precise with a specific shoulder. Pants are dominant in this collection, and “echo the men’s Fall-Winter collection”. Chanel, with its history of creating androgynous clothes, doesn’t disappoint either. Creating a quintessential “French collection”, tweed is crafted in sometimes feminine, sometimes boyish silhouettes. Short box coats, bow ties, or tweed dresses worn like suits follow the neutral theme by Chanel.

SHADES OF WINTER
Winter has always been slightly low on color thrill. Bottega Veneta, Paul Smith and Chanel mostly advocate black and white with dashes of bright colors here and there. Fendi creations sport much of reds, rusts, browns and whites.
Gucci, Michael Kors and Burberry offer a vibrant palette, with Burberry focusing on indigo, red, burgundy, teal. Michael Kors gives jewel tones a runway with shades of claret, peacock, topaz and peridot among others. Elie Tahari focuses on black, grey and striking shades of cobalt blue which lends electric excitement to this collection.

Whatever the trend, winter 2015-16 is set to be a chic one.
