Presented within the patrician halls of the 17th-century Palazzo Serbelloni in the center of Milan, the Bally Fall/Winter 2024 collection is inspired by the breathtaking Swiss mountains and culture.
With this collection, aptly named ‘Der Wanderer’, Creative Director Simone Bellotti orchestrated a tribute to Swiss folklore, seamlessly weaving nature’s raw beauty with urban sophistication.
The collection embarks on a crescendo, traversing from the untamed wilderness to the structured urban landscape, harmonizing the primal and the polished. Drawing from 170 years of tradition, craftsmanship, and Swiss heritage, each piece resonates with timeless elegance. The collection is not novel, but certainly comforting.
The colour palette is simple – black, navy, sky blue, browns, punctuated with reds and green.
Full leather dresses, bead encrusted skirts, boat shape waists were all part of the collection. Crafted with the razor-sleek Swiss aesthetic, there were plenty of black and navy coats, in different shapes, sizes and cuts. Some oversized, some fitted.
Worn with indigo denim, crisp cotton shirts, and boatneck sweaters, the collection showcases Swiss elegance imbued with imaginative flair.
Bally’s commitment to craftsmanship is evident in its footwear, with the ‘Plume’ deck shoe transforming into a versatile lace-up bootie or thigh-high cuissard, and the ‘Glendale’ Mary-Jane adorned with Appenzeller charms.
Derbies and block-heeled boots showcase polished or oiled leathers, embodying the artistry of Swiss craftsmanship.
The accessories complement the collection’s narrative, featuring buckled satchels, briefcases, and zippered carry-alls crafted from monochrome calfskin with gilt or silvered hardware.
A slouchy shoulder bag ingeniously incorporates the leather sole of a BALLY shoe, highlighting the brand’s ingenuity and dedication to merging heritage with contemporary design.
In an extension of collaboration, Bellotti had DJ Leo Mas to co-create the soundtrack for the Bally Fall/Winter 2024 show. The collection epitomizes a journey through time, tradition, and the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland.
