July 31, 2013: Bottega Veneta has launched a new store at Melrose Place in Los Angeles, which, the first of its kind for Bottega Veneta, is designed to invite clients into the brand through a precise display that is reduced to the essence of each product. The store comes as a part of Bottega Veneta’s vision to focus on developing a network of specialized stores tailored to specific customers and particular neighborhoods.
The new store maintains the feel of a gallery, with white painted sliding steel fixtures and mesh panels. It offers a concise, curated selection of home, men’s and women’s leather goods, ready-to-wear, jewelry and gifts. The ivy covered façade of the building remains virtually untouched from the original design, adding only two small Bottega Veneta signs. The existing windows and steel grates were maintained along with the daylilies under the windows. The interior of the store centers around the idea of lightness and clean lines. White frosted glass, transparent resin with imbedded mesh, white painted steel, white lacquered wood, and high pile felt create an exhibition-like space. The sense of lightness is further enhanced by the presence of an open-air courtyard at the back of the store, finished with wood flooring and polished concrete seating.
For Mr. Tomas Maier, Creative Designer of the brand, the opening of this store illustrates the evolution of the brand: “Philosophically, Bottega Veneta is about individuality, and it is natural to not only indulge our customers with a neighborhood store, where the products have been selected especially to reflect the lifestyle of the client who lives and shops there, but to ensure we provide them with a luxurious environment that really is akin to its natural surroundings. I’m pleased to be able to offer a more personalized shopping experience to our clients in Los Angeles and I hope they will enjoy this luminous new location.”
