The OWO Residences by Raffles has joined forces with the Swiss watchmakers Bovet and announced an exclusive collaboration to produce a special edition of 10 classic timepieces.
Former Winston Churchill’s wartime headquarters in London, once known as the Old War Office, has been exquisitely revamped into Raffles’s first hotel with private residences. There is undoubtedly a wealth of history at this location, which now has undergone six-year long renovation to become one of London’s most notable and outstanding properties. To celebrate this momentous event, these 10 custom timepieces created by Bovet will be given as souvenirs to the owners of the 10 most opulent homes.
The two luxury brands first connected at the Monaco Grand Prix, where Bovet 1822 was displaying its unusual watches and the Hinduja Group, an international organization, was looking for an official timekeeper for OWO.
A fitting brand for the offer, Bovet, taking their game of unusual artistic watches to another level, introduced the 19Thirty, the most singular and contemporary watch for this special edition. The Bovet team visited the OWO construction site from the beginning, which served as an inspiration for the watch design.
Pascal Raffy, Bovet’s owner, crafted these special 18K red gold Bovet timepieces with the mind of both an artist and architect. Each significant element of this Edwardian masterpiece, such as the bespoke hand work, has been ingrained on the watch. The OWO property’s “egg and dart” design is hand-engraved on the cases, and the Bovet bow at 12 o’clock is hand-engraved with a marble shell motif that can be seen on the fireplaces and moldings.
Crafted at Bovet’s atelier, each timepiece is powered by an in-house hand-winding movement and is water resistant up to 30 meters. The distinctive dial is modeled after the Rose Ceiling that hangs above The OWO’s Grand Staircase. Flip the watch to see Winston Churchill’s famous quote “We Shape Our Dwellings, and Afterwards Our Dwellings Shape Us.” hand engraved on the back of the case.
Built on a royal site, the historical building will offer 120 guest rooms, suites and residences with unparalleled and extraordinary experiences. And the Bovet timepieces further enhance its magnificence.
