Breitling’s Top Time Classic Car chronograph collection, inspired by the American sports cars of the 1960s, proved to be a bestseller in 2021. Sharing the same spirit and style of that era, this year sees the arrival of yet another classic timepiece, a sporty Ford Thunderbird model with a red strap, a clean white dial, and red chronograph hands, offering a view to the iconic Thunderbird logo.

Like its style-driven 1960s predecessor, the latest Ford Thunderbird chronograph’s 41-mm stainless-steel case is a comfortable size for car and watch lovers of all stripes. Powered by the Breitling caliber 01, this timepiece boasts a power reserve of 70 hours and an enhanced case back with a water resistance to 100 meters. What’s more, the watch has perforated leather racing strap, speed-measuring tachymeter scale, and ‘squircle’ shaped subdials are evocative of vintage dashboard gauges.
From the designs to the mechanism, the Top Time chronographs – which were first launched in 1964 – brought the spirit of the vintage cars and became a fast favorite among motor enthusiasts and the fashion set. Edgy and bold, its graphic designs took over magazines and the silver screen, when world’s favorite spy, James Bond wore an iteration in the 1965 movie Thunderball.
