February 22, 2011: Burberry must be doing something right! The brand recently celebrated the launch of its fifth store in India at Oberoi Hotel, New Delhi with a swish party. Not many international luxury brands can boast about having five stores in India. But Burberry has achieved this tricky task!
To celebrate this occasion, Burberry hosted a well-deserved party with Sanjay Kapoor of Genesis Luxury, Burberry's JV partner, at the helm. Canapes and cocktails could be seen moving around the 1,700 sq ft store.
The evening was a mix of style and understated elegance as Delhi’s fashionistas, artists, ambassadors and businessmen gathered to celebrate the store and view the Burberry Prorsum Womenswear A/W 2011 show which had happened the previous day. A concept initiated by the brand’s Chief Creative Officer, Christopher Bailey, the audience can view the catwalk show via stream from London while store attendants equipped with iPads share the collection in more detail. Customers have up to one week to purchase the outwear and accessories from the runway. With seasonal collections normally available in store six months after their fashion show presentation, this initiative delivers orders within 6-8 weeks of placing.
The new Burberry store will house Menswear, Womenswear, Non Apparel, Childrenswear, Fragrances, Watches, Eyewear by the brand in a store design conceptualized by Bailey.
We wish many more super-successful stores to Burberry!
