September 18, 2012: Merging its usual digital finesse and sharp British aesthetics, Burberry presented its Womenswear Spring/Summer 2013 show. Titled Corsets and Capes, the collection showcased trenches alternating between corset and cape styles. Corseted tops, corset seamed skirts and corset seamed dresses took up significant ramp time too.
The colour palette moved from calm white, nudes, tan, bronze and copper to dramatic pink, lipstick red, fuchsia, ink blue, turquoise and green shades. Adding to the sheen was the quite extensive use of plastic, satin and metallic leather which exuded a vibrant class.
Accessories showcased included the Blaze bag which complemented the collection fabulously. The vivacious satin and metallic python peep-toe and point-toe wedges added a touch of glamour.
On the whole, the collection aptly signified the effervescence of summer, while presenting the quintessential British sartorial sense.
