Dior has officially opened the doors to Café Dior by Anne-Sophie Pic in Chengdu, the capital city of the Sichuan province, in China. This marks a significant collaboration between the legendary French fashion house and the world’s most Michelin-starred female chef – Anne-Sophie Pic.
Bringing together haute couture and haute cuisine, the new Dior Café creates a refined culinary experience infused with Dior’s timeless elegance.
Chef Pic, renowned for her mastery of gastronomy, has curated a menu that blends texture, color, and flavor. The café’s concept revolves around the oval, a shape deeply embedded in the heritage of 30 Montaigne, interpreted through exquisite dishes that reflect Dior’s legacy. Signature house motifs take center stage in the presentation.
The iconic cannage pattern, couture bow, and the revolutionary New Look as embellishments are reimagined in delicate appetizers, while desserts transform Dior’s timeless symbols such as the Granville rose and toile de Jouy into edible art. This meticulous attention to detail reinforces the café’s status as an immersive extension of Dior’s creative vision.
The menu pays tribute to both fashion and culinary heritage. Several dishes honor Chef Pic’s grandfather, André Pic, and his legendary recipes, ensuring a connection to the chef’s storied lineage. The new Café is accompanied by La Cuisine Cousu-Main, a book featuring founder Christian Dior’s favorite recipes accompanied by René Gruau’s illustrations. This entire, well-packaged experience enriches the café’s cultural depth.
