August 27, 2020: Notable Indian fashion designer JJ Valaya has launched his e-commerce site valaya.com, thereby renewing his niche in the digital world after 10 years.
“In the mid 90s, we were perhaps one of the first Indian fashion houses to launch a website at a time when the world had only just been introduced to the wonders of the internet. Over time, our focus shifted to brick-and-mortar stores and the expansion of the brand, and our virtual world took a back seat. Now, after nearly a decade, valaya.com comes back in an all-new avatar. The website was always a part of my post-sabbatical plans, the only change being that it now precedes the launch of our flagship experience, the WORLD OF JJ VALAYA, in early 2021,” says Mr. Valaya.
Bridging the gap between the online and offline worlds, the online store will offer a complete bespoke experience to not just patrons who are in the comfort of their homes, but also to a global audience. The online site will feature several new collections.
The Tabriz 2019-2020 is a tribute to the Persian culture ranging from the 16th to 19th century. Divided into three collections, it blends Persian intricacies with the brand’s themes of royal legacy, nomadic spirit and Art Deco glamour. The Shifting Leaves Chevron collection is inspired from Rajasthani motif of chevrons, found in Rajasthani architecture as well as the Art Deco movement. The house will present a limited-edition collection every year with the designs and patterns inspired by it.
The accessories collection features an exquisite assortment of add-ons for both men and women. Fashion jewelry in association with Swarovski, silk scarves and the newly launched Valaya Phoenix Belt are available in the women's section. The men’s segment includes fine silk pocket squares, inlay buttons and cufflinks in gold-plated silver, handcrafted footwear, turbans, stoles, as well as the Phoenix Belt. Customers can also order bespoke pieces from the men’s capsule collection titled ‘Jhalamand House’ comprising linen and cotton shirts and kurtas.
Women can personalize their brand new IKA jacket, a younger sibling of the Valaya classic Alika jacket from 2010. Right from choosing the fabric to the patterns, the store will offer a rich customized experience. Showcasing the Valaya ethos, the magnificent online store will be elegant as well as cutting edge.
