February 9, 2016: Drawing inspiration from the moon, shoemaker Christian Louboutin reveals its Spring/Summer 2016 collection, called Clair de Lune.
Featuring styles for both men and women, Clair de Lune presents designs adorned with clusters of shimmering gems in four sizes and 11 different hues. The famed brand employed a unique strass method as well as a novel approach to crystal hand-application that leaves each pair of shoes emulating the sparkle of moonlight and conjuring up the feel of romance and mystery.
Louboutin teamed up with Paper Fashion website illustrator Katie Rodgers to create a series of hand-painted watercolor drawings and gifs that quote the collection’s lunar inspiration.
Clair de Lune is available online on the label’s website as well as in select Christian Louboutin boutiques across the world.
