Presenting his Fall Winter 2024 collection with the now popular The Loubi Show, Christian Louboutin reignited his connection with the Le Trianon (a historic theatre hall) this year. This hidden 1894 gem is nestled in the heart of the Pigalle district, and holds personal significance to the designer, who once resided there and cultivated his craft in this area.
With this step, Mr. Louboutin revisited the very neighborhood where his passion for footwear began and where he spent notable time in his formative years.
The show itself was put together by Leo Walk, a youthful French choreographer and artistic director. He seamlessly blended nuanced contemporary dance with the dynamism of street hip-hop movement.
The performance – featuring 12 dancers from La Marche Bleue – highlighted moments of joy, hope, and a deep appreciation for life, emphasizing the beauty found in embracing life’s uncertainties and finding solace in the present moment.
But the oohs and aahs were reserved for the collection itself. As is expected from Mr. Louboutin, there is always something unexpected coming from his workshop. This time, he is inspired by Rio de Janeiro – giving us some vibrant, flirtatious products. On the other hand, Texas defines his collection too, offering some ‘macho’, cowboy looks.
Rainbow styled crystals, feathers and Caribbean styled flowers all denote the Rio part of the collection. As the world revisits the wild, wild west trend this season, Mr. Louboutin brings forth boots full of horseshoes, thunder and cactuses.
Intricate craftsmanship with beads, spikes, crystals enthrall the onlooker as much as the wearer. Denim, another popularly resurging material, makes its appearance felt with various iterations.
Whether you choose the boots or the pumps, you are set for an animated winter.
