May 13, 2014: Dior has launched the Dior VIII Grand Bal Plisse Soleil (pleats of the sun) which epitomises the unique creativity and femininity that is perennial and specific to Dior, this time in a classic material – stainless steel.
The swirling pattern is decorated with diamonds and embellished with mother-of-pearl hemmed in yellow. The watch features 13 mother of pearl inserts delicately cut out, adjusted to one 100th of a millimeter and placed on the weight like pleats on a skirt. The diamond-set bezel is decorated with a white mother-of-pearl ring. The sun brushed finish on the dial gives the piece wonderful luminosity.
Beneath the coloured dial, the watch beats to the Dior Inverse 11 ½' calibre automatic movement, with 42-hour power reserve.
