July 11, 2012: On June 20, David Lynch and Dom Pérignon feted the global debut of their limited edition collaboration, with a private celebration curated by the world renowned artist and film-maker, which included a performance by The Kills and concluded with a DJ set by Diplo.
The occasion of such festivities was the unveiling of the Dom Pérignon Vintage 2003 and Rosé 2000, by Mr Lynch, including two limited edition Jeroboams, especially created by Mr Lynch for the event, and signed by him on the spot.
Their journey of togetherness started in December 2011, when Dom Pérignon unveiled the advertising campaign of the Dom Pérignon 2003 and Dom Pérignon Rosé 2000 Vintages, photographed by Mr Lynch. It this inspiring, powerful campaign, Mr Lynch combines the dreamlike beauty of his own universe with the mystery of Dom Pérignon’s.
After photographing the bottles, Mr Lynch reinvented them. Taking inspiration from his photographs, he has given them a new look in a limited edition, designed and signed by himself. This limited edition is the result of a fruitful collaboration based on absolute shared trust in the power of creation. “It is a process of tuning in and then through experimentation getting something that expresses the essential nature,” comments Mr Lynch.
‘Dom Pérignon by David Lynch’ is available in two gift boxes: Dom Pérignon Vintage 2003 and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2000. For both, Mr Lynch designed a shield with different patinas, bronze for Dom Pérignon and almost purple for Dom Pérignon Rosé. Thick and metallic, it is marbled with granite tints, glitters of mica. The limited editions will be available at selected fine wine purveyors worldwide starting in October.
