March 4, 2021: Indian designer Amit Aggarwal, known for his unique take on Indian fashion, has launched his latest collection ‘Euphor’. Taking inspiration from the pacifying, relaxing effects that nature has on our overwhelmed, stressed senses in today’s corporate, cut-throat world, the collection captures the current state of mind quite well.
Mr. Aggarwal explores the therapeutic balance of botanicals – the visual and mental unleashing rendered by flowers. The collection draws heavily from scientific journals that describe the physiological effects of nature on human health. In bringing this collection to life, Mr. Aggarwal taps into his deep understanding of couture and an experimentation of traditional print and embroidery techniques.
“This past year has pushed us to explore the limits of what we’re capable of in a constantly heightened state of mind. Unwinding has become a conscious, forceful choice. I used fashion as a canvas to explore this escape into a reality that was our shared collective in the past decades before industrialisation. To me ‘Euphor’ is the exploration of time into a mental state. It’s brought to life through delightful material and precise karigari,” he explains.
Innovating with technique, Euphor prints over hand embellished fabric to create unique surface textures. The collection also uses metallic cording moulded to create organic patterns. With the color pallete of Blush Lisianthus, Fuchsia, Mint, Emerald and Camella, the collection brings nature’s calm into our everyday life.
