Scheduled for May 13, 2024, at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues in Geneva, this event will feature a dedicated section showcasing these watches. This occasion also marks the 30th anniversary of Michael Schumacher’s first Formula 1 Drivers’ Championship victory in 1994. Let’s take a look at the timepieces.

The star of the show is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak chronograph. It holds special significance, having been specially commissioned by Jean Todt, early mentor to the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion racing driver, during their time at Ferrari. This unique timepiece was crafted to commemorate Mr. Schumacher’s six F1 victories at the time of its commissioning, which is implied at the back of the case features an engraved dedication marking so.

Equally cherished is the F.P. Journe Vagabondage 1 Model timepiece, dating back to 2004. Adorned with a bespoke dial, this one-of-a-kind watch bears an engraved dedication on its 18k gold movement, further enhancing its sentimental value. The striking red dial is adorned with symbols representing Mr. Schumacher’s seven F1 World Championship victories up to 2004, including his iconic racing helmet and the emblem of Ferrari.

Mr. Schumacher entered Formula One with Jordan in 1991 and secured his first Drivers’ Championship with Benetton in 1994. Transitioning to Ferrari in 1996, he clinched five consecutive titles from 2000 to 2004, setting multiple records. Retiring in 2006, he returned briefly with Mercedes from 2010 to 2012.

Mr. Schumacher’s lesser-known contributions include developing a carbon fiber helmet with Schuberth. He also engaged in extensive philanthropy, supporting UNESCO, funding schools, and hospitals, and aiding disaster relief efforts. His family established the Keep Fighting Foundation in 2017 to continue his charitable legacy. Mr. Schumacher’s career, spanning three decades, cements him as one of Formula One’s greatest drivers.
