After the last coronation of Queen Elizabeth Il in 1953, King Charles lll will take his coronation oath on May 6, 2023 at a grand ceremony in Westminster Abbey, London. The ceremony promises to be considerably different and modern from the last occasion – a historic event that millions of people will be watching.
And for this larger-than-life event, Fabergé launched two exceptional lockets in its Heritage collection. These lockets will bear the new hallmark of the British Hallmarking Council depicting King Charles III’s head, as a tribute to this special year. The intriguing part is that this hallmark can be attached to any Fabergé jewelry this year upon request.
The Heritage Coronation Crown Surprise locket is inspired by the royal crown St. Edward wore during his coronation. With a velvet cap in a gold frame studded with rubies, the crown is one of the most precious treasures of the nation. Crafted from 18k yellow gold, the Heritage Coronation Crown Surprise is hand-decorated in purple lacquer reminiscent of the purple cap of the crown. Adorned with round blue sapphires, Gemfields Zambian emeralds and Mozambican rubies, the surprise sits upon a carved carnelian stone platform.
Any British royal event is incomplete without the magnificent Gold State Coach. As part of the coronation, the procession will see the King riding in the gold Coach. Honoring this grand moment, the Heritage Coronation Gold State Coach Surprise Locket features a small version of the iconic Gold State Coach adorned with a diamond on the side of the door.
Both the stunning lockets are priced at $13,500 and will be available at Fabergé’s retail boutiques in Harrods’ London and The Dubai Mall, and selected authorized retailers and their online website.
