April 24, 2013: Jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali celebrated 20 years of her brand with the opening of her art deco, yet avant garde jewellery store, titled “Farah Khan Fine Jewellery” at the Turner Road jewellery boulevard in Bandra, Mumbai.
The Farah Khan Fine jewellery new store is spread over two floors. The show windows and in store jewellery displays followed the childlike yet breathtaking theme of “Alice In Wonderland” that tell a story that go beyond the usual retail expectations. The store is done up in a neo classical feel to create a comfortable warm ambience yet keeping a minimal clean look. The vivid orange windows stand out along with the unusual displays that have been created to incorporate the theme. Three larger than life displays stand out as they house the unusual props that serve as a backdrop for the jewellery that shines bright through the windows.
Large Columbian and Zambian emeralds, beautiful Burmese and Mozambique rubies, scintillating sapphires, precious pearls and dazzling diamonds along with various other gemstones set the tone for each beautiful signature FK jewel. Signature pieces include a 92-carat Columbian Emerald Necklace suspended by a marquise and pear shape diamond chain. Other pieces include a stunning snake bracelet in coffee diamonds as it travels inside a diamond mesh and wraps itself on the wrist to create a unique piece of art. This piece took 1040 hours to craft and was created keeping the Chinese year of the snake in mind.
A stunning chandelier in the center of store completes the uber luxurious look. The highlight of the store is the in-store elevator that is fitted with thousands of Swarovski crystals.
