Fendi Couture Spring/Summer 2024 sees designs that encapsulate the nuanced interplay between the imaginative, ethereal world of poetry and the tangible. The imagination and humanism are manifested in intricate details, delicate fabrics, and artistic embellishments that evoke a poetic sensibility.
“There’s the body, the silhouette within the silhouette, the person, and the handwork of the couture. The collection is about structure and decoration, where the two become indivisible,” explains Kim Jones, artistic director of the brand’s couture and womenswear range.
At its heart, the collection is a striking relationship between structure and decoration. The garments are not merely adorned with decorative elements and hand embroidery, but are conceived as integral parts of a structural whole, embodying a harmonious unity that exemplifies the intersection of futuristic aesthetics with the authentic human touch in high fashion.
Commencing and concluding with the innovative “Scatola” silhouette, the show introduced striking geometric pattern cutting. “Shibari” tops and dresses crafted from sumptuous materials like cashmere and vicuna gracefully traced and embraced every curve of the human body.
Every piece reflected the juxtaposition of contrasting elements, such as ethereal fabrics paired with structured tailoring combined with minimalist designs.
The artistic director of jewelry, Delfina Delettrez Fendi, unveiled the ‘Singular Vision’ collection of exquisite eyewear. Crafted with precision through facial scans and adorned with 18k white gold and white diamonds, these eyewear pieces emanate power.
The Baguette bags, envisioned by Silva Venturini Fendi, Fendi’s Artistic Director of Accessories and Menswear, harmonize with various clothing materials, ranging from crocodiles to intricate embroideries. Along with the Fendi Gems Baguette bags on the runway, the Mini Baguette bag and a buckle encrusted with pave diamonds captured attention with its meticulous craftsmanship.
