May 16, 2014: Fendi recently announced its Peekaboo project in collaboration with iconic women, a charity initiative to raise funds for Kids Company, on the occasion of the opening of its new London boutique in New Bond Street.
In this initiative, a group of iconic women, who exemplify Great Britain’s creative and innovating spirit, were invited by Fendi to personalise their own Peekaboo handbag, thus allowing for a completely unique and fully interpreted creation. Confirmed collaborators include artist Tracey Emin, actresses Gwyneth Paltrow and Naomie Harris, models Cara Delevingne, Jerry Hall and her daughter Georgia-May Jagger, architect Zaha Hadid, fashion illustrator Tanya Ling, singer Adele and journalist Kate Adie.
From May 2, the Peekaboo bags have been displayed in Fendi’s new flagship store on New Bond Street and are available to purchase through a dedicated online auction launched from May 1. The auction ends on May 30. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to London and Bristol based charity Kids Company. This partnership will help Kids Company continue their vital work providing practical, emotional and educational support to exceptionally vulnerable inner-city children and young people in the UK.
The auction site, www.fendi.com/peekaboo-auction, will provide the opportunity to bid on one of the unique Peekaboo’s and buy an ultimate collectors piece.
