April 8, 2016: Italian luxury house, Fendi opens a verdant flower store inside its Ginza boutique in Japan.
The label’s second collaboration with famed Japanese flower artist, Azuma Makoto, Fendi Flowerland celebrates the brand’s women’s spring/summer collection. While the store lights up in the cheerful motifs of Fendi’s summer line, Mr Makoto’s original flower bouquets fill miniature jars and enliven the maison’s bags, including the specially created Micro Double Baguette and Peekaboo purses.
Cheeky yet feminine, the limited edition bags flaunt 3D bloom patters made of fur, leather and Plexiglas. The jewel of the spry partnership, however, is a typical Japanese cherry tree, decorated with some 1,200 fox-fur balls, which change their colors to pink to pay homage to the island nation.
Also featuring ready-to-wear items, shoes and accessories, the playful Fendi Flowerland shop will be open through April 17.
