New year is right upon us, and you haven’t decided how you are going to welcome 2013. But the celebrations better be special! After all, we have apparently survived the intended end of world. What more wonderful way to rejoice new beginnings this time by feeling alive with good food, warmth, music and lots of love?

We list out the plan by three of our favourite hotels. Just enter their large doors and leave the rest to them. The only tip we can give you? Make your bookings fast!

This grand hotel, which has seen many dignitaries cross its threshold, makes sure that you travel through the epicurean legends of Italy, India and South-East Asia at each of their restaurants for a gala New Year’s Eve dinner on December 31, 2012.

1911 Brasserie offers a sumptuous New Year Eve dinner with a selection of fine delicacies at INR 4750 inclusive of taxes per person. San Gimignano presents finger licking (yes, literally!) Italian fare like Bambino Spinaci Risotto Con Formaggio Fuso Teleggio (Baby Spinach Risotto with melted Teleggio Cheese), Guazetto Di Merluzzo Con La Pasta Conchiglie (Tomato and Olive encrusted Chilean Sea Bass with Sicilian Ratatouille) and so on, at INR 6000 inclusive of taxes per person.

Recreating secret recipes from the home kitchens of South East Asia, The Spice Route at INR 6000 inclusive of taxes per person, will feed you on specialties like Dayir meen Varuval (Basa fish marinated in buttermilk and kerala spices fried crisp), Phad Woon Sen Yai (Stir fried broad cellophane noodles with Thai red curry paste) and many more delectable varieties. Daniell’s Tavern, their pan Indian fine dining, opens door to the old menu dating back to the British era for an exclusive celebration with delicacies like Eral Thokku (Nilgiri Prawn deep fried and served traditionally), Railway Chicken Curry (a traditional chicken preparation of West Bengal), amongst others, giving you taste of the original Hindoostan, at INR 5500 inclusive of taxes per person.

If lavishness is what your soul demands, then The Leela Palace New Delhi, which almost beckons with its sophisticated and grandeur architecture, has quite a few options for you. Le Cirque, their immensely prestigious French-Italian restaurant, welcomes you to join a special dinner on the New Year’s eve with ‘A table in heaven’, offering an eight course menu by the celebrated Chef Mickey, a spirited jazz band, an array of delectable desserts and fine champagnes by the roof top poolside, priced at INR 8000 per person plus taxes.

Megu, their Japanese restaurant with a modern twist on the cuisine, will serve Omakase menu with wide choice of entrées, array of starters, soups, sushi and sashimi followed by desserts. Priced at INR 8000 per person plus taxes, the guests will be served a glass of Champagne with compliments from the hotel. On the other hand, Jamavar, the Indian restaurant, will entice guests with a set menu priced at INR 6000 per person plus taxes. A glass of Champagne with compliments from the hotel will welcome the guests here too. The Qube, the all day dining restaurant, will orchestrate an exotic buffet priced at INR 6000 per person plus taxes. This shall include free flow of alcohol from the choicest beverage list. Hosting a full sensory experience, The Westin Mumbai Garden City creates a ‘worldly celebration’ this New Year eve. For peace loving couples, Kangan plays host to ‘Daawat-e-Jannat’ with a five-course set gourmet menu by Master Chef Ajay Chopra, accompanied by the lilting soulful strains of Ghazals and songs by Sarel Roshan.

new year celebrationsIf music, wine and crackling laughter is more appealing to you, then move to Prego, the Italian fine dine restaurant, that will be hosting to ‘Fiesta La Viva’ with a selection of five of their most popular and finest Italian fare, with a selection of special wines and pulsating music by DJ Rally. Or bid adieu to 2012 with a world buffet at Seasonal Tastes where you’ll find delicious gourmet cuisines and a wide array of red and white wines.

And for all party animals, sashay your way to Westin’s ‘Hot Freeze’ at the Ballroom, which presents a volcanic dance floor and an Ice bar, the best of Yin & Yang. With DJ Gary ramping it up, along with fiery belly dancers and pyro flyers coming all the way from Croatia, you get to choose if it’s going to be a hot or a chilled out new year.
