Gemfields celebrates debut of Mozambican rubies & Bergdorf Goodman’s Jewellery Salon

Gemfields celebrates the debut of Mozambican rubies and Bergdorf Goodman’s new Jewellery Salon

Gemfields X Bergdorf Goodman collection by Federica RettoreDecember 21, 2015: Gemfields, a leading supplier of coloured gemstones, has debuted an extraordinary collection of one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewellery to unveil Bergdorf Goodman's new Jewellery Salon.

The collection, created by a curated group of Bergdorf Goodman jewellery designers, highlights Gemfields' new cache of rare Mozambican rubies and Zambian emeralds.

Created for the opening of the new Jewellery Salon, the Gemfields x Bergdorf Goodman collection features more than 50 pieces of jewellery set with rubies and emeralds. Gemfields gave designers unprecedented access to its gemstones, enabling them to create a bracelet, ring, necklace, earrings or jewellery suite of their choice.

Participating designers include David Webb, Federica Rettore, G, Ippolita, Jamie Wolf, Kimberly McDonald, Lauren K, Loree Rodkin, Nikos Koulis, Paolo Costagli, Paul Morelli, Pomellato, Stephen Webster, Sydney Evan, Sylva & Cie, Verdura, Yossi Harari and Yeprem.

Federica Rettore, for example, has created a collection which combines the watery-gray color of the labradorite, which can have shades of peach, light blue and gold, with the strong and well-defined red ruby.

Lauren Kessler’s Aria ring is reminiscent of the glamour days of old Hollywood. It is both uptown sophisticated and downtown chic.

Chicago’s Loree Rodkin designs a ring which defines her personal style of rock and roll with a twist.

Bergdorf Goodman's new Jewellery Salon includes a special Viewing Room designed to further enhance the customer experience and provide a more intimate space for shoppers.

The Jewellery Salon is part of the renewal of Bergdorf Goodman's iconic ground floor and marks the luxury retailer's most important renovation since the late 1990s. As part of the restoration, historic architectural details throughout the floor have been refurbished to their original lustre, while new features in a palette of pearl grey will reflect the store's focus on creating a modern and seamless experience for shoppers.
