November 8, 2016: Indian design house, Good Earth, and Indian designer Rohit Bal have launched a special home and apparel capsule collection to celebrate the 2016 festive season with a #FlightOfFancy. Called Husn-e-Taairaat, the collection epitomizes indigenous inspirations – nature, wildlife, beauty, love for Persian arts and a reverence of Mughal history. This also marks Mr Bal’s debut in home decor.
Husn-e-Taairaat, ‘beauty of a bird’ in Persian, is Good Earth’s re-imagination of Mr Bal’s 2015 couture collection. The collection features signature Rohit Bal motifs – multi-coloured lotuses, long-tailed birds like peacocks, fruits, flora and fauna rendered in vintage Pichwai painting style.
The home range includes accent pieces with detailed hand decoration of artwork decals on fine bone china, ceramic and glass in vibrant shades of royal blue, jade and ivory, accentuated with 24 carat gold and platinum.
The apparel collection features a range that exudes the signature look of Rohit Bal presented in Good Earth’s quintessential, easy contemporary aesthetic. The pieces feature prints on Habutai silk with a strong focus on colour and silhouette, with the more special pieces carrying fine quilting, gold sequin work and embroidery.
