July 8, 2019: Place Vendôme, the iconic epicenter of high jewelry, welcomes Gucci’s first high jewelry boutique designed by Creative Director Alessandro Michele.
The new boutique displays the brand’s first high jewelry collection, called Hortus Deliciarum, which comprises of more than 200 one-of-a-kind pieces. Mr. Michele’s passion and poetic vision come through, using personally sourced unique stones that are at the heart of this new collection. The collection is trio themed; paying homage to classical emblems of eternal love and the majesty of the animal kingdom, while being centered on singular solitaires re-defined with maximalist allure.
The boutique at 16 Place Vendome is elegantly muted, contrasting the distinct, saturating hues in Gucci’s boutiques across the world. It is designed to dramatically illuminate the col-orful vibrancy of the jewelry itself. Within the collection, colored gemstones evoke a spec-trum of colors of a mythical garden in full bloom. The brand’s fine jewellery collections will also be available at the boutique.
Even though the boutique is lavish and much different from Mr. Michele’s other store de-signs, the jewelry itself is as bold and vivid as his apparel collections. This new step signals the arrival of Gucci’s savoir-faire into the universe of high jewelry.
