February 5, 2016: Exquisite department store, Bergdorf Goodman, has teamed up with Gucci to open its first-ever concurrent men’s and women’s shops by a single label.
Luxury brand Gucci has reopened its men’s and women’s shops in the iconic New York department store. This marks the first time the Fifth Avenue store has partnered with a label to create simultaneous art installations and fashion windows in both its men’s and women’s sections.
The collaboration draws inspiration from Alessandro Michele’s spring/summer 2016 collection for Gucci as well as the house’s new store in Milan. It features three windows in the women’s store and two in Goodman’s men’s store that contain ready-to-wear attires, shoes and bags, including the signature Dionysus handbag and loafer slides.
The elegant and modern nature of Mr Michele’s high-fashion apparels also defines the shops’ combination of industrial yet romantic, traditional yet contemporary designs. The shops’ entrances showcase special installations that include snake-adorned carpets with Gucci’s novel herbarium print, velvet-upholstered busts and wall panels containing fabrics from the spring/summer line, which will be on display until March 8.
Bergdorf Goodman’s Gucci assortments are also available on the store’s retail website.
