June 13, 2018: The Gucci Garden museum, situated in Florence, will now be opening rooms in tribute to singer Björk in light of their new collaboration.
The new rooms will be added on the first floor, alongside the original two rooms exhibiting the permanent and distinctive Gucci collection curated by Maria Luisa Frisa.
The installation will include masks and gowns seen in “The Gate,” a film by Björk and Alessandro Michele – the Gucci Creative Director. You can watch the film here.
Using the fantastical elements of the film, the two created an exhibition with sole focus on the ‘hero’ dress, which took 550 hours to make. The dress takes on an iridescent, magical look. Another gown is also shown alongside two masks created by James Merry.
Included in the shops and other areas in the Gucci Garden you can find books, screened films, and unique, exclusive Gucci pieces.
A new selection is also available by artist Isabella Cotier, with playful, colourful styles, which is inspired by the artists sketches and observational drawings of eccentric, unique characters in Florence.
All in all, there is something new and different in each room of this delightful, magical, stylish museum of fashion. When in Florence, this is a must-visit!

Gucci Garden Galleria: 10.00 – 23.30 (last entry 22.30)
Gucci Osteria: reservations from 12.00 – 20.30
Admission: Seven days a week, year-round, with closures planned for 25th December, 1st January and 15th August.
Ticket Price: Eight euros; 50% of each ticket sale will be donated to support restoration projects in the city of Florence. Concessions: entry is free for students, people aged 65 and over, children under the age of 12, disabled persons, citizens of Florence (Mondays only) and employees of the Kering group
