April 13, 2016: Italian manufacturer of fine writing instruments, Montegrappa, has unveiled the prototype of its $1-million-worth Ultimate Centennial Dragon pen.
The astonishing pen is the crown jewel of the Centennial Dragon series, which commemorates the brand’s centenary with a limited line of 100 units. Apart from the single Ultimate Centennial Dragon, the exquisite collection includes 33 pens in yellow gold, 33 in rose gold and 33 in white gold.
Drawing inspiration from the Nine Dragon Wall at the Forbidden City in Beijing, China, Montegrappa’s unmatchable pen features a 300gm solid-gold body, studded with flawless diamonds, rubies as well as a pearl.
The Ultimate Centennial Dragon comes with several perks for its buyer – a VIP tour around Montegrappa’s factory to view the manufacturing of the pen, followed by a meeting with members of the label’s board, among whom is F1 driver, Jean Alesi.
