London’s Hotel Café Royal has unveiled its latest gastronomic gem, Barbounia. Situated in the heart of the luxury hotel, the space overlooks the stunning 700-pound Murano glass chandelier and reception designed by Piero Lissoni.
Named after the red mullet (fish) in Greek, Barbounia’s all-day dining menu boasts classic Mediterranean flavors, from fresh seafood and meat dishes to handmade pasta and pizzettas.
The culinary journey at Barbounia is masterfully curated by Chef Alessandro Verdenelli, blending traditional cooking techniques with modern flair and a commitment to using the finest ingredients, sourced locally and seasonally. The restaurant masterfully brings a touch of authentic Italian and Mediterranean-inspired dining.
Suited for various occasions, the menu offers a diverse selection of small plates, sharing platters, main dishes, salads, sides, and desserts, providing flexibility for a casual lunch or an intimate dinner. This new restaurant introduces a unique take on the classic ‘Aperitivo Hour’ with its ‘House Selection,’ featuring a delectable sharing platter of oysters, red prawns, and langoustines paired with olives, Parmigiano, and truffle arancini, complemented by a glass of sparkling wine.
Main dishes include handmade pasta delights like Lobster Tortelli with cherry tomatoes and bisque, Veal Milanese, and fresh fish dishes such as Red Mullet with lemon and Provençal sauce.
Barbounia at Hotel Café Royal promises a culinary haven where traditional and contemporary elements converge, offering guests an unforgettable journey through the rich and diverse flavors of Italy and the Mediterranean.
