Rimac Automobili has introduced the Nevera R Founder’s Edition, a program that extends customer relationships far beyond the traditional hypercar purchase. Limited to ten units globally, the allocation was announced privately to select clients earlier this year and sold out within a week.

This program is distinguished by its direct integration of buyers into company operations, granting Founder’s Edition owners a company card that unlocks access to Bugatti Rimac headquarters, priority entry to product previews, attendance at performance showcases and record-setting runs, participation in strategy discussions with Mate Rimac and his team, and meaningful input into research and development for future models, with additional privileges reserved exclusively for the ten members.
Configuration begins with a personal session at Rimac’s Zagreb campus. Buyers work directly with Mate Rimac, Design Director Frank Heyl, and the design team using V-RED visualization software to adjust colors, materials, and finishes in real time. Mate Rimac will personally deliver each vehicle and support specialist driver training conducted by Rimac’s professional testing team.

Each Founder’s Edition features a two-tone baseline design with a dramatic color split running the car’s length. “Instead of creating some shouty livery, we use the natural geometry of the car as the color division to emphasize what we’re trying to achieve here,” said Lead Exterior Designer Clark Yutong Wu. This split visually lowers the vehicle and creates a forward-tilting stance.
An ultra-thin central stripe runs along the roof, measuring just two millimeters at its narrowest point, incorporating Rimac’s signature cravat motif and circuit board graphics. Interior door panels feature bespoke embroidery marking three dates in company history: the garage era, the Concept_One launch, and the record-breaking period with Nevera and the Campus. Seat layout is asymmetrical, paying homage to Mate Rimac’s personal Nevera configuration.

Customization options have proven extensive in practice. Rimac’s team has sourced specific purple leather for one complete cabin and replicated an indigo blue from another vehicle in a customer’s collection. Hand-stitched interiors, hand-painted details, and custom paint liveries are all available. Each car requires several months of hand-assembly and application of bespoke elements.
Production of the Nevera R itself is limited to 40 units. This compares to the original Nevera, which has a production cap of 150 units. Rimac produces approximately 50 Neveras per year by hand, with each car taking about five weeks for final assembly. As of 2024, more than 50 Nevera units had been delivered since production began in 2022. Formula One World Champion Nico Rosberg received the first customer car, numbered 001.

Rimac’s first production car, the Concept_One, was initially planned for 88 units but ultimately limited to eight examples, all of which were sold. That vehicle established Rimac’s approach to extreme customization and direct founder involvement in customer relationships.
Nevera R delivers 2,107 horsepower through four individual motors controlled by Rimac’s torque vectoring system. It achieves 0 to 60 mph in 1.66 seconds and reaches a top speed of 431.45 km/h, or 268.2 mph. In 2025, it set 24 verified performance world records. Earlier testing showed the original Nevera hitting 0 to 60 mph in 1.74 seconds during its own record runs in May 2023, when it set 23 performance records in a single day.

Rimac opened its new campus facility in Zagreb in phases, with the first phase completed and production now operating from that location. Manufacturing capacity runs approximately one vehicle per week across both the Nevera and the Pininfarina Battista, which shares the same platform and production facility. Rimac develops most major components in-house, including battery systems, inverters, transmissions, motors, and control systems.
Mate Rimac said, “From the very beginning of Rimac Automobili, I’ve been humbled by the people who believed in an idea that most considered unrealistic. With the Concept_One, we were asking our first customers to take a leap into the unknown, and they did. Those early believers set everything in motion.”

He continued, “Since then, Nevera, and now Nevera R, have become the foundation of what the Rimac Group is today, as well as the pioneers of an entirely new level of automotive performance. They are milestones in our journey and a crucially important part of the growth and global acclaim of the Rimac Group. Without them, everything we have built wouldn’t have been possible. I wanted to find a way to thank the visionary individuals who helped shape this path, and to invite ten of them to experience our world in a completely new way. Not only through a remarkable car, but through a deeper connection to what makes Rimac unlike anything else.”
Nevera R recently received a Red Dot Award for Product Design. Standard Nevera R pricing starts at approximately €2.3 million before taxes, though Founder’s Edition pricing has not been disclosed publicly and is expected to exceed the base figure given the extensive customization and access included.

Rimac Group now encompasses Rimac Automobili, Bugatti, Rimac Technology as a Tier 1 supplier, and Rimac Energy for stationary energy storage. Rimac Group employs more than 2,200 people across sites in four European countries. Porsche holds a 24 percent stake in Rimac Automobili, having increased its investment from 15% in March 2021. In July 2021, Bugatti Rimac was formed as a joint venture, with Rimac Group holding 55% and Porsche owning 45 percent.
Rimac’s trajectory from garage startup in Croatia to hypercar manufacturer took 16 years. Mate Rimac founded the company in 2009 after converting a 1984 BMW 3 Series to electric power. That vehicle, nicknamed the “Green Monster,” set records in 2011 and attracted early investors. Production moved from prototypes to the eight-unit Concept_One run beginning in 2011, then to the 150-unit Nevera series that began deliveries in 2022, and now to the 40-unit Nevera R production run that includes these ten Founder’s Edition examples.
