Alessandra Facchinetti says arrivederci to Italian luxury label, Tod's

Alessandra Facchinetti at Tod'sMay 5, 2016: After three years at the creative helm of Tod’s women’s department, Alessandra Facchinetti is stepping down.

Ms Facchinetti joined the Italian label in 2013, after a brief two-season leadership of Gucci’s womenswear, followed by a creative-director appointment at Valentino and her own ready-to-wear Uniqueness line.

At Tod’s, Ms Facchinetti made a name for herself, reinterpreting the brand’s penchant for leather in soft, feminine designs. At a label famed for its accessories and Gommino shoes, her garment collections strutted the intersection of elegance and practicality, with not even a single stiletto having clicked on the runway.

Ms Facchinetti leaves Tod’s to pursue other undisclosed projects, while her successor has not yet been announced.
