The conversation between Alexander McQueen men’s and womenswear collections for summer 2022 merges elegance with reinvention. Inspired by William Blake Dante’s 19th century illustrations, the artistic print has been brought to life via wardrobe archetypes contributing to the season’s contemporary yet timeless feel.
Other pairings include masculine shirting and sporty sweatshirts draped in Dante’s illustrations in white cotton wool material, combined with ruffles made of black cotton silk, serving both the fashionable eye and everyday functionality.
There are many takeaways from the collection, especially since Alexander McQueen has always trodden the ground-breaking path, but this year has some key styling trends.
Crafted using polyfaille material, we admire the exploded ruffles on tailored tuxedo jackets in deep black colour palettes that are systematically cut to form a three-dimensional scultpural silhouette. Both Pre-SS 2022 womenswear and SS 2022 menswear Alexander McQueen collections marry the brand’s classic ethos image while celebrating the here and now.
The collections also features a jewelled four-ring satchel that reinterprets jewellery hardware accented by a punk edge twist. Versatile and suited to be worn over the shoulder, crossbody or handheld, the four-ring satchel appears in black and warm tone colours, standing out in polished metal adjoined by smooth leather.

From references to nineteenth century art, romantic craftmanship using distinct flowering ruffles in unisex styles to feminine and tough hardware satchels, the summer Alexander McQueen collections have been engineered to merge beauty and reinvention.
We are particularly looking forward to Alexander McQueen's Spring Summer 2022 Womenswear collection, where frilly frocks are combined with biker jackets, trench coats have been given dual personalities, and showstopping jackets and leggings in womenswear have been crystal raindrop embroidered with royal jewellery motifs.
Ms. Burton has always managed to make that creative balance between dainty and hard rock. This collection – available for purchase on the brand’s website - follows the theme.
