For the 76th Cannes Festival, Chopard yet again presents a mesmerizing Red Carpet collection of 76 Haute Joaillerie masterpieces.
May 18, 2023: Following its official partnership with the Cannes Film Festival since 1998, each year Chopard presents an extraordinary line of Haute Joaillerie creations that shares the vision of the festival, with the number of pieces corresponding to the number of the latest edition of the film festival.
This year is no exception. As the 76th edition of Cannes Film Festival officially began on May 16, Chopard unveiled its Red Carpet Collection in the Palais des Festivals, duly chosen by the actresses and actors invited to promote their films in competition, by making an appearance on the red carpet.
For the 2023 edition, artistic director of Chopard, Caroline Scheufele, explores the various art forms and took inspiration from her travel experiences to create this lineup. Her exposure to a wide variety of art, architecture, music and cinema has shaped her creative vision which is reflected in the collection.
Chopard loves cinema, as is vividly illustrated by its latest campaign starring its Global Ambassador Julia Roberts, inspired by a backstage look at a film shoot. With high craftsmanship and creative innovation, each jewelry piece defines new codes for the Maison.
As part of this relationship, Chopard had created all the trophies awarded by the Festival jury at the end of the competition. The Palme d'Or, highest prize awarded at the festival, is carefully and meticulously crafted by skilled artisans in Fairmined-certified ethical gold, in compliance with best-practice artisanal gold mining. Following Chopard’s commitment to sustainability, all the creations, including the Palme d’Or, are crafted with ethically sourced stones. The Maison will also honor the promising careers of young actors with the Trophée Chopard.
Crafted in the same workshop as the Palme d'Or, all the other 76 pieces make their appearance during the traditional staircase ritual. Unique treasures in the Red Carpet collection include a piece that echoes the curves of a sculpture is a spectacular ring, featuring a big central yellow sapphire supported by a group of antique-style sculptures carved in gold and attired in brilliant-cut diamonds. A one-of-a-kind collar necklace is a statement piece which has diamond feathers skillfully crafted to form gossamer-light volutes. Prepare to be enchanted!
