AstaGuru presents an eclectic collection of masterpieces by revered Western artists

Celebrated works by Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol alongside Marc Chagall, and Joan Miró will grace AstaGuru’s latest auction.

July 18, 2023: Reputed auction house, AstaGuru, will unravel an extensive collection of masterpieces from varied periods of modern art. Titled ‘Masterpieces and Editions’ the auction will be held on July 20-21, 2023. 
The highly curated collection exquisitely explores the rich tapestry of creative progression from the early 20th-century works to the revolutionary artistic expressions in the present day. The sale will also feature various pieces created by artists from France.

Some of the highlights of the sale are ‘My Pool And Terrace’ by David Hockney (INR 18, 46, 200 – 21,58,000); ‘Couple’, a signature style creation by renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero (INR 64, 49, 100 – 74, 70,000); ‘L’oustachi’ (Ed: 41/50), executed by Joan Miró (INR 18,46, 200 – 21,58,000); and ‘Jacqueline Kennedy III’ (Jackie III) 15 (Ed: 19/200) (INR 20,75,000 – 29,05,000) by Andy Warhol.

A significant work titled, ‘Nu Couché’ by Pablo Picasso is estimated to fetch around INR 4, 98, 00,000. Also published in a book titled ‘Pablo Picasso’ by C. Zervos in 1976, the work was executed with a pencil on paper. 
Standouts from Surrealist Master Salvador Dalí’s collection mark the ‘Horse Saddled with Time,’ and ‘The Sprint At Evian (Perrier)’ (INR 46, 06, 500 – 53, 95,000). The motif of the melted clock in ‘Horse Saddled with Time’, embodying the passage of time, is synonymous with Dalí’s 1931 painting, ‘The Persistence of Memory,’ which is considered one of the most important works in the history of Surrealism. It is offered at an estimated price of INR 3, 68,52,000 – 4, 98, 00,000.
