Breitling ticks back into its past with Navitimer 1884 series

Breitling Navitimer 1884April 25, 2016: Swiss watchmaker, Breitling, ventures back to its roots with the limited Navitimer 1884 series.

Marking the year when the label commenced, the 1884 chronograph line features a 46mm steel case that houses an all-black silver dial. The 12 o-clock mark provides for the brand’s iconic day and month twin apertures, while a designated moon-crescent hand ticks off the date, wielding Breitling’s famed Datora system. A tiny 24-hour, military-style display at 9 o-clock measures the passing of seconds, enhancing the timepiece’s capacity to distinguish between day and night.

Powered by Breitling Caliber 21 self-winding movement and hooked to either leather, crocodile or rubber strap, Navitimer 1884 comprises a 1884-piece line that evokes the fine horloger’s long-standing devotion to aviation that began back in the 1940s.
