A part of the brand’s Wonderlab, this is the first collection released under Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert, Swarovski’s first-ever global creative director

March 24, 2021: The luxury crystal company, Swarovski, which turned 125 recently, has begun a new era with a dramatic new vision by unveiling its first-ever collection under the creative direction of fashion stylist Giovanna Engelbert.

“I am thrilled to be leading the creative vision of a cultural powerhouse like Swarovski in the future,” Ms. Engelbert had said during her appointment.

The brand is focusing most of its marketing efforts on its jewellery line. Swarovski is mainly known for pieces that resonate with the masses: simple, everyday signature pieces.

As part of the Wonderlab, an imagined space "where science and magic meet" — Swarovski dropped Collection One, which showcases rings, necklaces, and bracelets in a dazzling array of hues such as green, purple, yellow, and red, that manifest the fundamental but magical properties of the crystal. An inventive approach to scale, cut and color creates a hyper-chunky, hyper-expressive, and hyper-versatile collection that invites the world to tap into their creativity with a sense of grandeur and play.

The designs are a reflection of Ms. Engelbert’s personal bold street style and the vibrant direction Swarovski wants to head towards in 2021 and beyond. Complex designs, layered placements, oversized cuts and a vibrant play of shades define this collection.

"I wanted to explore the fundamental geometry of crystal and its potential as a material," Ms. Engelbert said. "Looking at Daniel Swarovski's first drawings was an absolute inspiration, discovering the magic of his early inventions and understanding the power of his dream to create something the world had never seen.
