Farrokh Khambata launches Pan Asian fine dining venture Umame

Pan Asian fine dining UmameSeptember 10, 2012: Remember the days when Valhalla rocked your socks on a weekend? Fitting into those old shoes is a restaurant that, well, feeds with a difference. Meaning fifth taste, the place has a decor that complements the subtle flavours of food. We are talking about Farrokh Khambata’s Umame, which not only houses a main restaurant, but also a lovely al-fresco area and a private party room.

Impossible not to enjoy are Pan Asian starters like Umame Special Rolls, New style Sushi and Sashimi, Water Chestnut Dim Sums, Bacon Rolled Scallops and Mushrooms with Holy Basil. Filling bigger appetites, the main course features Crisp Fried Red Snapper, Massaman Curry with New Zealand Lamb Shanks, Water Chestnuts in Sambal sauce and even some Joss favourites. The showstoppers were the unusual desserts like Kiwi Wasabi, Chocolate Sushi, Rum and Coke Ice-Cream and Green Tea Tiramisu.

A welcome offering, Umame is a space that is pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. We wish the team luck and success!
