#Fendirumi pop-up at Harrods

July 20, 2016: To celebrate the opening of its first #Fendirumi pop-up at Harrods on Thursday August 4th, FENDI welcomes the Fendirumi themselves – Piro-chan and Bug-kun. Two meters of furry fun created by FENDI, the Fendirumi pay homage to the Japanese phenomenon of kigurumi mascots. Inspired by the QuTweet bag charm, the pink Piro-chan has large yellow eyes, a blue crest and features the FENDI logo. Bug-kun is blue and is inspired by the much-loved Bag Bugs charm with its yellow crest.

Visitors to the pop-up will enter the Fendirumi world where Hundreds of bell jars with rotating miniature Fendirumi will line the walls. Exclusive products will be merchandised from an enormous pink Ape car (the traditional three-wheeled Italian vehicle). Meanwhile, a specially created Fendirumi cartoon will be shown on a vast LED screen, offering a backdrop when the mascots pop in to surprise guests, who can meet and take selfies with them.

The two bag charms inspired by the Fendirumi are miniature versions of their full-size counterparts, recreated in mink and kidassia fur. The Bug-kun charm also features fox fur, while the Piro-chan has big crystal eyes. These and a range of other exclusive-to-Harrods products, including croco-steel bags, Mini Dotcom Click pieces and Strap You variations inspired by the Fendirumi, will be showcased in the pop-up. In addition, two new Bag Bugs, Har and Rods, will be available in limited quantities, alongside ready-to-wear pieces, created especially for the pop-up, that will also be on sale.
